The hotel was in a beautiful old building with great views out over the bay and towards Hania city. The staff were very friendly and immediately made us feel at home, offering refreshment as we arrived on a hot day. I've no doubt that if i'd asked they would've done everything in their power to help with any requests.

The hotel was advertised (in the review and not by the hotle i think!) as being quiet and peaceful. Our room was the one which was in the review/advert looking out over the bay - beautiful. What you can't see is the main road between the balcony and the beach which is busy with queued traffic all day and has a steady flow of cypriot mopeds at night! This is more of an observation than a complaint but be wary if you have a room at the front to overlook the sea, i'm sure the garden view rooms would be fine. With this in mind and the slightly less than luxurious room (although good for Cypriot standards i'm told) i don't feel that it was value for money and actually a little overpriced - even though, the building is worth seeing.

A beautiful place in a great location with an awesome staff. Thanks!

Doma is a beautiful place to stay, an interesting building with plenty of history. Perfect for those looking for somewhere more personal. Only a 10 to 15 minute walk along the old harbour to get to the old town. Staff were very helpful and friendly and accommodated our every need. For us it was the perfect destination for a honeymoon break in this beautiful city.

The rooms have very high ceilings and lovely furniture. The bedroom was in the back and quiet with a fan and excellent air-conditioning. The bathroom was very nice and towels and robes were replenished multiple times a day. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served in a third floor room with antiques and a gorgeous view. There is a small rocky beach within walking distance for swimming.

The sitting room facing the street had a sea-view but was noisy when windows were open. The street the hotel is on is a very busy one with many cars...the noise is a factor.

The hotel and the room had a lot of character. The breakfast was good and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

It's a small hotel in a beautiful old building with a great view to the ocean although not every room faces the sea -only half of them. The garden is also very nice, small but cute and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient because it's a bit far from the downtown but close enough for a walk -15 min.

It's a very nice 3-stars hotel but it costs like a 4-stars. I understand that they keep the 'old style' which is sometimes charming but many others not comfortable at all. The rooms are a bit small, the bed is small, the mattress thin and hard, the shower (there is no bathtub) does not have a curtain so the whole bathroom (which is also small and without windows) is soaked after having a shower. I paid 105 euro per night for a single room and I think it's too much for this hotel.

Very helpful staff. Our nite arrival flight was delayed, but hotel staff waited for us and helped with the luggage and offered to arrange for food. Hotel is a charming former mansion, with a view of the sea, or a quiet garden. It is full of antiques and memorablilia. Like being a guest of the diplomat who occpied the house in it's early history. Wonderful Crete syste breakfast, witih view of the sea from top floor of hotel. A long walk to the Old City, but we didn't mind, it was interesting.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good

Hotel was not what I would call updated. Rooms were clean but poorly laid out with Spartan furnishings and no tv. Shower in bathroom just a basin in the corner with no curtain and a hand held shower. Bathroom got totally wet when taking a shower. Location is 20 minutes from old town.

If there's a charming hotel in Hania, it is the Doma. The history of the building, the cozy and lovely rooms, the traditional breakfast in a diningroom overviewing the sea, the garden and the super friendly staff al deserve an A+++. We highly recommend it and look forward to go back!

The wonderful sea view from the room and breakfast room.

There is some noise from the road in front of the hotel.

Beautiful old building with lovely sea views (some rooms face the garden); really friendly and helpful owners and staff,

Twin beds, not double; and no shower curtain!

views of the Gulf of Hania and proximity (walking distance) to downtown

    on a noisy street

It is nicely located so that you are not in the center of the tourism, so it is relatively quiet and also very easy to find and get to the city and the airport. Lovely staff, breakfast and experience

The hotel was had alot of charm and character (particularly the breakfast room - complete with ladies in lavendar!), was well run and good value for money.

Its non-hotel character! The former residence of the British Consul in Chania, the authentic and original furnishings, one savoured the luxury of the Belle Epoque. The excellent Cretan breakfast of finest local fare and the breakfast room on the 3rd floor was a breathtaking surprise my first morning, having arrived the night before, unaware of the hotel's beautiful view of the Aegean sea. On my return to Chania , after 7 days on the Libyian Sea , it was very nice to have my last day on Crete with a swim just across the street on another day/evening in this special boutique hotel.A stlye and class too infrequent these days of mass-tourism! perfecy proximity to the lovely harbor and 'old town',

the approach to the front door is a challenge to any handicapped person: stairs !! there is a lift, though in the hotel!
